Having studied English Literature at Queen’s University Belfast, John moved to Paris to study at the Ecole de Theatre Jacques Lecoq for three years. He then spent three years as the Artistic Director of the Shibboleth Theatre Company in Belfast.

John has since brought his talent and dramatic experience to film. He has directed 6 critically acclaimed short films, combining his extraordinary visual style with a natural sensitivity to character, performance and narrative. John has also written two feature screenplays and developed two television series. He is fluent in French and Italian.
