At the end of the eighties Graham started his writing career as a freelance journalist and film critic for HOT PRESS MAGAZINE.
Graham moved to London for the launch of SELECT MAGAZINE to which he contributed on and off for the next five years. During this time he and his writing partner Arthur Matthews started writing television sketches for SMITH AND JONES. From there they went on to contribute to programmes such as THE ALL NEW ALEXIE SAYLE SHOW, THE FAST SHOW (creating the now famous characters of “Ralph and Ted”), THE DAY TODAY, FRIDAY NIGHT ARMISTICE, BRASS EYE, THE HARRY ENFIELD SHOW, and COOGANS RUN.
Graham and Arthur swiftly moved on from writing sketches to writing their own sitcom “PARIS” for Channel 4, followed by the hugely successful FATHER TED, which won two BAFTA’S. Graham made his directorial debut in the location sequences of FATHER TED, before directing the entire series of BIG TRAIN.
Graham’s most recent series was BLACK BOOKS which he co-wrote with DYLAN MORAN. The showreel has a selection of spots from his latest ads for ITV Sport Channel (which were awarded the Silver Arrow at the 2003 BTAA Awards) , four commercials from the award winning QTV series and four commercials from the latest IKEA Campaign. He also directed the pilot for ‘LITTLE BRITAIN’. In February 2006 Graham wrote and directed THE IT CROWD for Channel Four and is currently working on a second series.
